Verizon confirms early store openings for Motorola Droid Debut

Verizon Wireless was rumored to have select stores open early for the big Motorola Droid launch on November 6th to deal with rush of customers. This has now been confirmed. Engadget reports:

We're told that "many" of its over 2,000 retail locations will open at either 7AM or 8AM local time to field orders for the DROID, though VZW mall stores will all open at their regular time. You should check with your local store to see exactly when they'll open

Also, if you search for a VZW store....you can see if your local store will open early...will be highlighted in red with a footnote that it's a special time.

Oh shizzle!!!! Mine seems to be opening at 6am!!! Might go to Best Buy anyway, though.

I am seriously going to be depressed if I can't grab mine on Friday.

I would imagine the exact units would vary depending on store size, I have heard that VZW is stating there will be enough units....

Now, if they can just define the word "enough"....

1 Dowtown Chicago store has around 140, and they are holding 2 for me, and two media docks-wouldn't even sell those early unlike some stores.

Hicksville LI store open at 7am.

I read a thread on Crackberry where most stores are getting at least 200 and considering how long it takes to serve each customer I don't think being at the store early is needed.
