Verizon promising Google Maps navigation for droid eris Q1 2010

Verizon commits to 'newer' Android for Droid Eris with Google Maps Navigation in Q1 2010 -- Engadget

Personally, I think Verizon is on the ball about keeping their customers happy when it comes to updates/fixes. What do y'all think?

We haven't seen one of these updates yet, so dont get your hopes up. From having experienced their BB "updates" for years, I can tell you they aren't very well known for coming through on this end.
Amen....it was a painful 12 months when I had my Storm.

Didn't know that VZW programed BB updates and patches....

They test and approve every release prior to it being deployed to the public. The last storm update should be proof they don't have a damn clue what they are doing.

If you are so naive to think that a carrier the size of VZW isn't telling a manufacturer what they need to see you should go ahead and make a sweater out of the wool over your eyes.

Not naive here at all...Since the Droid isn't crippled by the software nazi's at VZW with their guidelines things should go smoother for Android Updates.

Considering they are still actively participating, I wouldnt assume they wont screw it up for one second.
