Verizon Samsung Note 2

I am eligible for an upgrade and since I have had this phone (DX2) for what seems like a lifetime, I thought I would post this question and see what kind of response I get...

I am looking at the Note 2. In fact, I have pretty much fallen in love with this phone. Funds are tight, but anyone who knows me knows that when I want something bad enough, I usually get it. :p And since I have actually held and played with the phone there is no other phone that even come close to the "high". lol OKay, with that being said... I have been watching Verizon, Amazon and Wirefly for the cheapest deal. A few days ago Amazon had the phone for $99 upgrade. I can seriously kick myself in the behind for not getting it, but I thought I would hold off and see if the price would go lower. UGH!! The very next day it was up to $179.99 for upgrade. Is anyone familiar with Amazon's sales or promotions and how often they will drop prices like this? Or is it just luck of the draw?

Also, I have bought several of my families phones on Wirefly over the years. Their price is still WAY to high for me. And Verizon is a whooping $299.99 for upgrade, but they are offering new customers the phone for $149.99 which really chaps my butt. But that is a different story... anyway, Does anyone know of any other place to look? Or does Verizon do price match? I would make the $179.99 work if I could go to the Verizon store and walk out with my phone right then. Somehow, I don't think they will, but it never hurts to ask.

Edit: I wanted to also mention that I emailed customer service at Amazon to see if they would honor the $99 still and if not, when would it go back on sale. Yeah... they were of no help. lol

Amazon depends on when you catch the deal...I've added a few phones at great prices for friends...Only thing it's about timing always...I've gotten a phone for $9.99 on upgrade ...
I see Best Buy has it on website for $149.99 Samsung - Galaxy Note II 4G Mobile Phone - Marble White (Verizon Wireless) - SCHI605ZWV
I also checked my Verizon account online and I see $199.99 for upgrade ( you can get it shipped)...
Wirefly $199.99 http://www.wirefly.com/eCommerce/SpecialOffer.aspx?cid=36210_039006b1fa2f439fa727678bcf9b1ea2

If you don't mind a used one, Swappa is a great site to get it at. All phones there must be verified through their IMEI number and sellers can also select different options if it was rooted or ROMed. I've recommended a few friends to Swappa and all have been happy with their buys from there. I've noticed most sellers there are more honest than those that are found on Craigslist or eBay.

I didn't even think about Best Buy. Someone else told me to check at Walmart (in store) as well.

It's funny how I will go to great lengths researching phones and prices, but don't do it with vehicles. lol

I am gonna have to look at Verizon online. In the store the other day it was $299.99 (ouch).

Thanks for your response. :)

Off to research Swappa.

OKay, so maybe I am not the brightest crayon in the box, but....

Verizon online is $199 for upgrade. Oh goody!!!

I call the store and ask about it. They said theirs were $299.99 for upgrade. hmmmm?? So I told her about the one on the Verizon website and she said "the ones you get from Verizon are used, ours are new." I went back to the website and there is nothing anywhere that says refurbished or used. So I clicked the "chat now" button and talked to Tracy K who denied what the lady at the store said and said that the store should offer the same prices.

I don't even know if its worth the hassle. It's not even about the price any more. I hate being lied to!!

Anyway... back to work.

Best buy has the price match guarantee, good for 10 or 14 days after the purchase.
Verizon also charges 30 upgrade fee, IFK if best buy charges it or not.

If it's not HD it might as well be a newspaper.

Price should go down wuth the note 3's unveiling. Seriously debating getting a note 3.

OK, for upgrades on the Verizon website, it will have a "Certified Pre-owned" label on it if it was a used phone, otherwise the phone will be brand new from Verizon. Don't know what the store is trying to pull but i wouldn't trust them. Also, they now have a new feature where you can order your upgrade online and pick up in a store. That alone makes me not trust the store and what they are saying.

As for upgrades from other websites, I have always gone with Wirefly. They currently have the Note 2 for 149.99.

My official suggestion is try to hold off for about another 30 days. Samsung is set to announce the Note 3 on Sept. 4th. Once verizon gets it, you should then check Wirefly as they usually have a sale within 2-3 days after the phone is released by the carrier, and it usually have phones for 99.99 that normally go for twice as much. So you can pick from either the Note 2 or the Note 3. See which one you love more. ood luck.
