Today Verizon plans to announce their plans to create a Verizon Apps Store for Android. Their press event will be held at a conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to sources, the new Verizon Apps Store will be exclusive to Verizon customers and will be preloaded on all VZW Android devices. Additional reports seem to indicate that Verizon plans to use Chomp as their application search engine of choice.

Many folks in the industry are collectively scratching their heads on this one, because this is really just a re-badged version of V Cast, which didn't do so hot for Verizon before. Perhaps, with the more Android centric focus this might take off better. What do you guys think?

Good, maybe this will stop them from bogging down every phone other than the iPhone with crap.

The V Cast App Store has a better layout than Market 3.0.27/3.1.3

Actually this could decrease bloat. Main reason Verizon preloads all that Vcrap is because they don't have a place for people to download it from. Now that they have one, hopefully they will stop bloat.

Is that how they justify to themselves not letting us uninstall it, too?
