Owners of the Verizon Motorola Xyboards (both the 8.2 and the 10.1 variants) might be tickled pink to hear that Jelly Bean will be coming to your device sometime in the near future. Unfortunately, this good news comes with some sour news if you are the owner of one of the WiFi versions of these tabs. Supposedly, the WiFi version of these tabs will remain on Ice Cream Sandwich.

This has to be one of the biggest head-scratchers we have seen in a long time. It makes virtually no sense for Motorola not to bring Jelly Bean to the WiFi version if it exists for the Verizon cellular version. In fact, we usually see the opposite happen with devices. So far this has not been 100% nailed down, so it is possible Motorola might change there mind on this. In the mean-time we will keep an eye out and let you know if more details emerge.

Wow I totally forgot the xyboard existed. Good news for those with them tied to a data plan, but I'm sure Moto will come to their senses and release it for the wifi models.

Probably because Verizon wants you to be on their network. More $$$. Want updates, buy the more expensive version and send them money every month.

What ever happened to the jellybean update for the Xoom? Wasn't there a soak test for it a month ago?
