Vertical banding and verizon

So my screen too has the vertical banding. Went to get my handset swapped and was told its a non-issue and doesn't qualify for a swap.

If they can't rip you off then they'll screw you. Not only was I told this by the guy pretty much gave me heavy attitude.

Anyone else get screwed like this?

You're still in the holiday return period. You should be able to return it, swap it out, etc. for any reason or no reason.

it really depends on the store you go to. sometimes they're d-bags, and sometimes they're cool. try another store if you can, or talk to the manager.

unfortunately, the store nearest me is full of d-bags. i won't even go in there anymore. they actually tried to charge me a $35 restock fee for swapping my last phone for the same exact model within the 14 day period, and were all acting obnoxious and rude. i actually complained on the verizon wireless survey website.

Try a different store. If I were you I would've have asked for the manager if he really was giving you attitude.

I'm having the same issue. Only one small vertical line I see that is darker than the rest of the screen. However, in the past few days I got some pixel test apps and noticed I have a whole column that seems to be almost completely dead as when displaying a solid color (red, green, blue, yellow) I can see a dark line all the way down the screen except for a few spots. In addition to that I've experience quite a few random reboots which seem to be occurring more and more frequently. Think I should attempt to exchange it or do you think VZW will reject?

If you show them the dead pixels I think they would have a hard time denying you. That's obviously a hardware flaw.

Hmmm... This is interesting... Ive had a few of these phantom bugs as well... Tough to know what to do with some saying take it back now or just do a factory reset... Spose i can just start with reset and see how that goes

I took mine in to a VZW store and showed the guy the problem. He immediately said it wasn't a hardware problem; "That's probably just how the screen is." Well, I told him I've compared it to a friend's phone (a lie) and that their screen was flawless. He just said "Hmm, well I don't think it's a hardware problem with the screen." I started to get annoyed, so I asked him if they had any models in the store to compare it to. We compared it to a GNex that another one of the reps owned and the results were like night & day. The second rep then finally started to chime in saying "Oh yeah, you definitely have a defective phone. Mine is perfect." I wanted to say "Thanks, jacka$$, for hearing my whole argument with the first guy and not saying anything until now."

Anyways, with that info, the guys at the store wouldn't swap it. They were lazy and told me to call VZW phone support. So I did that. The guy on the phone was super nice and set up the order to get a replacement with no difficulties. I think in my case that I just got a bunch of lazy guys at the store who didn't want to do any work. Try another store, or call *611, and be persistent and you shouldn't have a problem.
