video messaging

How come when ever I get a video meassage from someone it only shows it as a picture not a video? My friend sent me a video from her lg env touch and it came up as a jpeg. Does the droid not support that format? Also a buddy sent me a clip he had stored on his phone as well. Same thing. Any ideas?

im having the same issue, curious to know what is causing this. im using Handcent by the way...
