Video performance over WiFi

I'm having a recurring issue with my Galaxy S3. When I watch videos or movies using HBO Go, NFL Mobile, or browser-based videos, the video may start fine but eventually stop displaying and I get a spinning disk. This happens in various locations: home, hotel, airplane, etc.

I had the problem on a plane the other day. I was able to use my laptop without a problem. A person next to me had an iPhone and he had no problem.

Is there a setting our is it just something with my phone?
