I remember a thread awhile back about taking video in vertical position. This made the picture a mirror image of what it should be. I'll search......gimme some time.....
I did in fact record in that position and had no luck. I also had a friend root my phone with super user and SQLite Editor. SU won't update to the latest version saying that root access failed. I no longer access to Hotspot for some reason and I'm not savvy enough to understand what can be done with a rooted phone. Is there any way to remove or un-root? Thank you in advance for your time and patients with this newbie!
Now.....as for the rest....I'm sorry I'm not the guy to help as I seldom root or flash anymore; however, tismydroid or sydman or some other flashing/rooting authority will be by soon to hook you up. I wouldn't want to post guesses or misleading advice.
Be patient and continue to bump this thread about once every other day to keep it at the top. You do this by posting "bump". Word of warning....please don't bump every hour....not good form.
Welcome to the forum! You picked the right place to ask for help
There is a camera app called "Camera ICS" and it's much better than the stock camera app. It will record in vertical mode or horizontal ... but I'm pretty sure playback depends on what app you use to play the video. I have "Quickpic" installed in place of the stock "My Gallery" app for pics, and if I play a video and turn the phone it plays it correctly either way
Also, while videotaping, you can tap the screen while it's recording to take a still shot. I really like it better than the stock camera app.
Anytime!
Oh...MattyP, regardless of the raucous avatar, retains recognition as one of the resident rooting resources.
Sorry...just depleted my brain of words that start with r
Please understand that I am recovering from surgery in the past few weeks....my brain is a tad fogged from pain meds.....
With that in mind (clear headed day!).....
Go to this thread
and download the utility. Do option number 1. What it does is restore the phone to like-new. It will remove all traces of the crappy root attempt.
Things to remember:
1. Read the when dang thread first. You may then have the solution ahead of time for any prob that may come up.
2. Back up your pictures and music and texts and messages you wanna keep.
3. Read...... I already mentioned it......but you'd be surprised.
4. Follow the flash with a factory data reset. (Settings, privacy)
5. After reading and searching, if there are any problems you can't figure out (not anticipating any...this utility is fool-proof) please feel free to post. As I mentioned before....you picked a great forum to get started on.
