Video recording problems

I have the moto droid on a stock 2.1 fw and ever since I've had the phone the video has been complete s--- on it. There is no other word for it. Absolutely un usable video.

Just today I took a video out in my back yard. Beautiful sun shine no clouds nothing. I took a video of my cousin shooting a balloon with his airsoft gun. When we played it back the sound was completely off from the video (about 3-4 seconds fast) it is glitchy and at parts it freezes completely and then a mess of pixels comes in where something is moving and that object (my cousin) looks blurry and pixelated.

Is there a fix? Did I get a faulty droid? I am months past the 30 day thing at verizon, but this seems like a defect. If I brought it to verizon do you think they would replace it or offer me a completely new phone?

You probably have an app running in the background using a lot of system resources. This could cause a lot of quality issues both during the recording of the video and the playback. I would restore to factory settings from settings>privacy and see how it works without any apps on the phone. Backup your apps using MyBackup first and then restore them after youn wipe the phone a few at a time to see which app causes the issue.

I used task killer to kill all my apps running in the background, then used astro to stop even more, and went into running apps in the settings app and made sure there was nothing there either.

I did this test video under the most ideal conditions...I'd post it here but its refusing to upload to youtube.
