Video transfer to PC-- sound won't work

So I took a few videos last night and continued to transfer them to my PC via USB, but when I tried to play them back with VLC and Quicktime player, there was no audio. Te audio works on my phone, but not my PC. Can someone help me diagnose this problem?

Sounds basic... but is your volume muted on your pc?
