Visual Voice Mail and 2.5.6?

Under 2.4.3 you could use the Market version (under VZW section) of Visual Voice Mail.

Under 2.5.6 you can load the Market Version, but when I try and run it I get an error that VVM already comes with my phone and I should use the version on my phone.

Problem is, the Fission ROM doesn't include the Moto supplied version (yes, I can grab a copy), but the Market version is newer and nicer looking.

What changed in 2.5.6 that let's VVM know that it's on a Droid2 and not to let the Market version run. The changelog states framework cleanup, but I'm not sure where to look in the framework file.

have you tried google voice? your voicemail comes as a text you can save, an mp3 you can download, and you can play the audio right when you get it too of course. plus its free and theres never a compatibility issue. sometimes the google servers like to change all the words though. its kinda like a puzzle you have to put together.
