VLC Coming Along Quite Nicely Apperently

Some consider VLC to be the most versatile Windows video player in the world, and if you remember a few months back, they announced that they’d been working on an Android client. It is nearly here. The application is not ready for release yet, but the screen shot above shows that they are busy working on it.

Here is the note from the developer:

"VLC media player on Android is working quite well. Anyway we are not ready to release a version until some months because we want something stable and nice to use. Be patient, we are working on it, even if this job is only done on our free time."

I am an avid VLC for Windows 7 user, and I think this is a great new development because a lot of the alternatives Android has does not really support all the format like VLC would.
Any thoughts about this news or do you guys already have another video player on your device?

Please get this up n running. If it works with a clip I have on my phone....it will be the best media player on Android.

I have a clip that the sound doesnt work. Usually when that happened on my PC, VLC took care of that...

I use VLC exclusively for all versions of Windows and I have for many years. It's always the default viewer on every computer I have. I can't wait until it's ready for Android!

This is crazy. I just found VLC last night for my PC, and come in to find this. Cool. I am still having issues with my PC version and 5G mpg files, but I think it may be ram or processor related. I will certainly be keeping an eye out for an android ap.

Thanks for posting,

Craig
