voice call use - battery

why is it that using the blasted thing is draining hte battery so bad? I sit on hour long conference calls all day and it kills the battery even with the screen off using a bluetooth (which I cant hear separate issue).

not a huge deal as I can leave it plugged in, but if I am on the road, or just taking calls somewhere without a charge, would hate for that thing to just wear out on me.

maybe I am being a bit unrealistic? what are the chances of me walking around taking hour long conf calls without access to charge?

more I guess of a curiosity as to why the phone calls take such a drain, I dont remember this on my OG droid

BT, and calls both kill the battery. As to if yours is a normal rate? I have no clue.

I have a charger on me 99% of the time, BT is only on when Im in the car and its in the dock charging lol and at home late at night is the only time I use it for much phone calls... and then its on the charger after the call.

To be fair most phones even old ones dont do well when you are on a call. Its why they read *8 hours of use 72hours stand by"
