Voice Command possibilities - what all can it do?

With all this talk of "Siri this and Siri that" I'm wondering #1, hasn't Android had this for years? and #2 now with all the attention to the possibilities, what exactly can it do?

My brother who is an apple fanboi, talks about his 4s like it can reposition NASA satallites. And while I admit, I hardly ever use voice commands in Android, he talks about Siri like it is his girlfriend. I'm mostly interested in finding out exactly what Android Voice Command can do just to shove it in his annoyong apple face.

So what can this do?

Can you update the calandar via VC?
