Voice Search and input?

I noticed today when trying to use the Voice input option for Better Keyboard that it was not working. I got an error stating that the "Speech Recognition Engine" is not installed. So I checked the Google search widget and it is missing the microphone and Car Home force closes if I try the voice input option. Is there a way for me to install this manually without having to do a complete wipe of my phone?

I did previously try out Droid Mod via the DM Updater and removed the root and mod because of the upcoming 2.1 update. Knowing this, what should or can I do to fix this?

Forget this request. With Motorola delaying 2.1 again, I am going back to DroidMod to stay until 2.1 is actually released and people have it on their phone. Wasted my time removing it and cleaning the files off my SD.
