NM the problem has gone away and voice search is working fine. crisis averted, problem solved
--about two days ago i realized that the Voice Search was not working on my Droid X. I have not rooted or anything. when i long press the search key nothing happens. when i hit the search key once i get the search bar and keyboard, the mic button next to the search bar does nothing and the mic button on the keyboard has a line through it. i got an app called Edwin that should access the Voice Search function but it does nothing (i tried uninstalling Edwin, no effect)--
