Actually? I do live by the laws. I learned a long time ago it isn't worth even the littlest thing that can cause you to lose your freedom. So yes, I am a law abiding citizen right down to always using my turn signal.
I don't agree with paying twice for something, however, it IS in the TOS. Also why tether when there are so many free WiFi connections available that are much faster?
In addition to that - my phone does it all, what the he!! do I want to carry around a bulky laptop for? I can remote in to my servers with my Droid, and run any program I want through the remote session or Terminal services. Okay, the screen is smaller - buy a tablet then.

Exactly why I tether without paying for it. It makes me feel alive..........And a lot of places I go, there are no free wifi connections, and browsing the internet is much better on my netbook.
How are you getting your way again? You're paying them, they're in control of their network, they're going to stop unauthorized tethering, and you're going to continue to pay them...and you are going to whine while you visit verizonwireless.com to pay your bill...lol...yes...you are getting your way.
They are not going to shut down tethering. They like the other carriers will do away with unlimited data, or throttle it. That is how they will stop you.
All four of the major carriers expressly prohibit tethering in their contracts. AT&T has totally done away with unlimited data. T-mobile slows you down to 3G (or slower) speeds after 2GB. Verizon isn't far behind. Unless you resign shortly, your current contract will be your last with unlimited full speed data.
I am being cheap. But I am seeing many more starting to wise up and not waste their money on the same product multiple times by reading these kinds of discussions, and more learning how to tether when before, they didn't even know it was possible for free.
