VZW DRinc2 Update on Monday the 11th!!!

Oh yay, speculation time! ;)

Seriously, I'm so jaded from all of the promised dates when I had my DX.

Having had GB on my DX, I honestly can't see how the update is going to improve my Inc2. It's already as fast and battery-friendly as GB makes it.

Yea no update for me either. They usually take a while to roll out ota updates. They do them in small batches.

I also think they are releasing it in batches and may be blocking ad hoc downloads, I couldn't image their servers handling too many users pulling the update freely.

Question: Any guesstimations on how many Dinc2s there are out there?

The updates are pushed in batches- they usually start with small groups and get larger as time goes on. Patience is the key here.

I have rooted 3 other devices. I rooted to add themes, fix problems or add mods. The Dinc2 for me has everything I want in a device. I will be keeping it stock unrooted for a while. I am looking forward to see what the stock Gingerbread update brings, but it's pretty darn good the way it is.

I was torn between rooting and updating, but I'm kind of feeling the same way now. I'm very happy with the phones current performance, and the only thing i would use from CM7 would be free tethering.

Root is pretty cool don't get me wrong. But why mess with a good thing, the stock Inc2 is sweet. Let's just hope the OTA update isn't buggy. I worry about HTC after the Thunderbolt incident. It should be ok though. Plus maybe someone will find an exploit in Gingerbread that allows us to root anyways later if we want.

Using wireless tether to use the data you already pay for, using setcpu to underclock when the screen is off and get even better battery life, flashing a sense 3.0 Rom, using cwm and titanium backup to backup your phone, blocking annoying ads that track your location without telling you, could list more.

Carelessly swyped on my phone so there may be some weird typos
