vzw galaxy s3 won't make/receive calls, send texts, but will get texts

Title says it all pretty much. My girlfriend has an s3 that about once a day has the problems mentioned above. Not sure why she can still get messages and all her notifications like Facebook come in. She has service for internet and voice while she had the problem.

Is the phone rooted? Have you tried a factory reset? Have you called or gone to a VZW store? I have a S3 and have none of those problems.

Care just tried a couple things, including a factory reset, which didn't help. We put the phone in safe mode as well, no help.
