I hate cases. Despise.
I didn't buy a sexy phone to double it's size.
I got a Turbo. I love my Turbo.
It's Ballistic Nylon. It's fraying without ever being dropped.

I bought that.
It's slim. It fits well. It works fine with the wireless charger.
It's glossy but not slippery. It in no way interferes with any function of the phone.
I think it would protect the edges and sides from any gouges if it did fall. Depending on the severity, naturally.
Certainly no Otter Box level of protection, but that's not what I bought it for.

What type of fraying are you experiencing? I bought the turbo 10/30/14 and own a horse farm in Maryland. Any equipment that ends up here has a hard life whether electronics or heavy farm emplements. I use the turbo sans case ( keep in padded leather pouch with belt clip. Have dropped twice, goten wet in snow and rain. No sign of wear what so ever, still looks new. I never just slide into pocket.

I'll try and get a pic. It's not bad by any means. Just bothersome, like when you have a hangnail you can't stop picking at.

I hate cases as well. I have my droid naked, except when it's in my pocket. I put it in a leather pouch case with clip and it keeps my phone looking new. I've used this brand for years through 3 different phones, they last. Link below.
