:welcome: to the Forum. There is nothing definitive that I've seen that says the iPhone is coming to Verizon. These rumors pop up all the time and they never seem to come true.
I don't believe Verizon has any intentions of getting the iPhone, for that matter I don't think the iPhone is better then the Droid. Ultimately you make the decision.
How long do you want to wait? Iphone is reported to be near xmas at the earliest.
Aaaand do you want multitasking? It all comes down to what you want out of the phone. If you prefer to have 37 fart apps, get an iphone. If you want to be able to have on fart app that you can make fart in time with a song on pandora radio, keep the droid.
I like the open source aspect of Android, and I really do not like how closed and limited apple makes everything. Apple does have some nice polish, but you pay for it with limitations.
Android is like a house you own, you can modify it pretty much however you like, it might take a little more work, but you can set it up exactly as you see fit.
Iphone is more like a rented furnished apartment, its all pretty much setup and ready for you, but there are more rules and you are limited on what you can change.
Wecome to the forums chief. I got a buddy who works with iPhones on a daily basis. To sum it up like the add
Everything "i" don't, DROID does!
Its much more open. Google basically took the precious safegaurd Apple has for thier device, and turned it against them. With the right know-how, you can do virtually anything with this device. Will an iPhone integrate better with a mac. . . . of course. There are more benefits to the DROID that override the iPhone's sleek design and cool factor.
FYI, you gotta jailbreak (void your warranty) just to get it to multitask (which is standard for the droid)
The last set of rumors about 6 months ago was that verizon was getting a "lite" version of the iphone. Whatever that is... I'm digging my droid and I dont like the dictorship ways that apple does things.
I say keep the droid till the last day possible. Use it as much as possible and try out everything you can. Then when its close to your 30 days see if you like it or not. If you love it I say keep it. If you are still in between, maybe there will be some more details on if iphone is coming to verizon and make a decision from your experience with the droid.
No actually its not. There are major downsides of the droid compared to iPhone as well as major downsides of the iPhone compared to Droid. The iPhone is an awesome device and so is the Droid. Its all about personal preference and style. The iPhone has a lot more app storage and apps. The Droid has other perks. I love my Droid but you also cant knock the iPhone because it is a very nice device. If it weren't for Apple you probably wouldn't have the Droid with Apps and features like that.
NOTE: The iPhone is not even for sure coming to Verizon but has been written by the Wall Street Journal that it is expected to hit Verizon in Sept of 2010. This is still rumor and speculation at this point.
