Wallpapers on internal memory

thought i'd get a faster answer here

Isn't it better to store wallpapers on internal memory and have the phone run it from there?

If the wallpaper is on the microsd card, the droid will constantly have to draw out power from the SDcard and it will decrease battery usage

anyone know how to store downloaded wallpapers onto internal storage?

If your Droid is not rooted, internal memory are for apps only. I really do not think that having your wallpaper in the microSD card matters and battery shouldn't be affected that it will drain your battery that fast.

Should be pretty easy to verify. Take your microSD card out for a day and report back to us on battery life. :D

I can't say for certain but I doubt there's a significant difference when it comes to wallpaper.

I'm pretty certain that contact images and wallpapers are either stored into the ram or internal memory of the phone once you select it off of your sd card. I moved the location of my wallpaper and contact images, even deleted them off of the card completely, and nothing disapeared.
If you're this battery obsessed you'll never have any fun on your phone. Live a little =)

Downloaded the app "Screens" from Marketplace. Can either save picture as wallpaper or download to SD Card. How do I access wallpaper on SD card to change wallpaper?

You need a file manager/explorer.
I recommend Estrongs File Explorer or Astro File Manager

I have not rooted my phone, yet it seems that ASTRO File manager has access to the phone (and SD card). Where do I go to find the wallpapers that came with the droid's Wallpaper Gallery? I looked all over and did not see them... :(

I don't know what happened to my post...but:

No it does not use more power. The wallpaper gets cropped and made into a temp file, then stored in memory. The SDCard is no longer accessed after that, so it doesn't use more battery power.
