First off, i havent been to the general discussion in a while, id like to say that they really need to condense some of those stickies. 8 of them is just to much IMO. Sooner or later your going to need to make a discussion area just for stickies. Anyway, back on my question.

I got asked a question earlier today that i didnt know the answer to. If you have a device that can be OEM unlocked like the xoom or some htc phones, and you do it. Since the warranty is now invalidated can it be re locked which would hopefully re validated the warranty or is it gone forever? It would seem kind of ripped off if the warranty wasnt re validated especially if the issue has nothing to do with it being unlocked in the first place.

I did something along those lines with my 2nd Droid.

I rooted it and had to trade it in cause the speaker blew out. Unrooted and went to store and was given a new one. I guess as long as they don't see Superuser it's in the clear? /shrug

I am not familar with the guts of the D2 but i dont think their was a bootloader oem unlock with that, oem unlocks are basically telling the OEM you rooted. Thats different from rooting and unrooting becuase they have no way of knowing. I just cant find a clear statement of moto saying anything about it.
