Hey Everyone. This is my first post, but this forum has helped me out for a very long time.

My wife accidentally exposed her phone to water damage. The red indicators are now showing on both the phone and the battery.

After waiting two days to dry out, I started the phone up and it brought me to the bootloader. I had never rooted or dealt with this before, but I am familiar with linux. After playing around for a while I finally got the original SBF from triple threat to boot.

Unfortunatley the phone randomly reboots. When I plug in the battery the camera light comes on for a second, then when it starts booting the camera light comes on a few times. Once in a while the phone still boots to the bootloader, however after a few battery pulls the phone then boots right back to the SBF.

I was hoping someone has had a similar experience and wondering if there is anything I can do, or do I just have to admit the phone is gone.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Kirk

From my experiences with dropping phones in the water and seeing people on here do it, it may be gone :( The ones that do work, eventually get worse and/or develop problems down the road.

Thanks for your quick response. It is what it is :r_c:

I bought her one off of craigslist for 150. Works fine. I Was hoping to used the damaged one to load Liberty and give it a try.

Thanks again.

Battery?

So, the phone is still randomly rebooting and going in to bootstrap. However, my GOOD phone's battery was dead, so I decdied to try the battery in the water damaged phone. I plugged it in and the GOOD phone when in to bootstrap.

I charged the good battery and booted my phone right up. My question is the battery causing some of the problem here? The camera light is still coming on when the battery is inserted in the water damaged phone, and it also blinks while booting.

Thanks.

Only time will tell imo. Its sounds like an improvement at the least. Is it fixed, I hate to be negative, but I doubt it. I hope for your sake it does, but just being realistic.
