.wav bye, bye! Why??

Since I updated my X to system version 4.5.596 and android version 2.3.3. - i can no longer play .wav files on my x!! I need that feature back desperately for business messages from optimum voice which are in wav format.

Can someone please help me and tell me how to get that feature back? It is really really most urgent.

I use remote wave free, look for it in the market place. works great for my vm that gets emailed to me as a wav file.
