Weak tether signal

I finally ditched my overpriced inconsistant ISP. With my grandfathered unlimited data and unlimited tether it is still cheaper and more reliable. Everytime it rained my old ISP speed would crawl down to less than 56k. Anyways my only issue is weak signals from the phone. 4 feet from my Bionic and I'm dowm to 2 bars. I'm running stock Android in the lapdock.

Anyone else experiancing this? Would one of the leaked ICS's improve signal strength?

Thanks

I use Foxfi on my Bionic with the .232 ICS leak. I tethered a BB Playbook at a softball game and she could walk about 20-25 feet away and still connect. Just my experience, I don't have any suggestions.

Thanks for the reply. I just finished setting up my Netgear wireless print server tethered to my Bionic and get the same weak signal. My goal is to use the server to connect my wired security cameras to the hotspot. I've tested my laptop hardwired this way and all was well.
