Well she finally died

Yesterday, after a little over a year, my Original Droid finally quit on me. Loaded up the latest release of BB the night before, was texting like normal yesterday and then on the last text the screen wouldn't turn on. Tried everything, battery pull, connect to charger, connect to PC, RSDLite...all nothing. The phone still boots, I know because it does that little vibrate and then my notification light comes on. I can also swipe the unlock button and feel it vibrate, no screen though. So now I'm on the Droid X...pretty good so far. Fair well though, to the best phone I'd ever had!

I would like to extend my condolences , I sure it was a fine Droid.

Sorry to hear your loss, but you probably forgot about it thanks to your new baby the Droid X. I sure don't miss my D1.

Sounds like the backlight died. I love my OG Droid so much that had it happened to me, I probably would have tried replacing the screen.

That sucks... and just after the manufacturers warranty... Did you have the VZW insurance? Their program has a 'warranty extension' built into it.

I feel your pain. My wife just picked up the Pro, and while it is a looker, I don't think I could part with my OG.

RIP :motdroidhoriz:

Thanks guys. That really was the best phone. Survived several drops and even a motorcycle crash.

Shouldn't we be complaining that a 300 dollar phone died in one year of use? lol

Hope my OG last at least 2 years so I can at least have another upgrade to use.
