Went to my local VZW store - GUESS WHAT!

Talked to a rep, played very dumb about the GNex and said I wanted to try out the rezound or bionic or razor first, cuz I wanted to get something right now. He told me, just wait (and this guy doesn't know me from Adam) and that the Nex was probably going to come out very soon.

I said, "Oh yeah?" He told me yes, they just got a shipment in today and he is almost 100% sure Friday will be the release date. He ALSO said he's thinking only for $199. Now, I'm NO expert, nor do I have a friend at VZW, this is just what was told to me TODAY, not 25 minutes ago. FWIW, I live in Virginia.

Neither of these are confirmed, but $299 is much more likely for a new top of the line LTE device.

Just giving you the info I was given. Again, the 199 wasn't something he was screaming about, however Friday's release was. I mean, he was like "Just wait, it'll be out on Friday." That's pretty much exactly what he said, now again I don't know him, don't gain anything from making a dram-filled claim, I'm just stating what I was told. I drove out there to see for myself, figured I could at least share what I heard.

I have a friend who runs a store in Newport News, VA and he still has heard nothing of a release date or a shipment to his store. He is under the impression because of all the leaked "release dates" Verizon is no longer giving much notice to stores on certain new phones.

I will gladly pay $299 for this phone, i think that it is worthy unlike anything else currently out there.

Well if southside Richmond has them... hopefully a littke closer to me will. Lol. Really doesnt matter where it is as long as its in the general area... Im just east of the Colonial Heights store.. but pass alot of others while working.

I wonder how much of that $299 price are expedite fees for shipping them overnight from place to place and warehouse to warehouse cause VZW doesn't want them in stock to early to keep this secret .
