hi,
im a newbie to the android and just picked up the fascinate. i have two questions...
1) is it better than the x. i have read conflicting reports about both models and since i have 30 days to switch, can't decide what to do.

2) what benefits do i get from rooting the phone.

sorry if these questions are far below the standard questions posted but im new and trying to find out things

maybe i'll stick with my fascinate

1. Here's a thread on differences. I don't know if it will be helpful or not but I just googled the question and there are plenty of links on it:

2. I'm not sure what the benefits would be for the Fascinate but I would assume that getting rid of bloatware and being able to download some useful apps that you can only use when rooted would be the answer.

See I wouldn't even consider owning a Fascinate. Not because it's a bad phone, it's a great Android phone. But I want a Motorola Droid.

I want the Fascinate primarily because of the Super Amoled screen. The way the phone feels in my hand is another thing. I hate that hump on the Droid X's backside. Try laying it on its back on landscape position to watch a video, it was irritating to me. No one watches video on portrait position.
