So now that we both have Droids with internet and email and all that jazz I'm just not getting her moved over from a paper calendar to a phone calendar. I showed her how she can invite me on things and I can accept or reject them and how quick/efficient this is.

This got me to thinking... what can we use to replace our paper grocery list? We use a dry erase board on the 'fridge at home but most times when you think of something to add you're in the garage or next door or whatever but you usually forget. That or I have to call/text when I'm on my way past the store to see if she needs anything and if she's with a patient I usually don't get a reply until it's too late. Or having one of us get the same items on the same day and not realizing it until we get home. How cool would it be to have a simple online document that you could edit from either Droid? I've seen some grocery list apps that claim to share but they just send a text email when what I really want is an online form that can be edited easily from the Droid. There has to be some way to use Google Calendar or Google Docs or something along these lines to have a simple text layout that either of us could access from the Droids quickly and easily to use for a grocery list.

Ideas?

An app would be great. I attempted to use Google Docs and created a simple Document and was able to successfully add a couple items to the list as well as edit it from my PC. It also successfully sent an email to myself as well as my wife to notify us of the new document along with a link to the document. The problem came when I attempted to edit the file from my Droid and didn't seem to have any luck nor did I see an option to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Actually I found an app called 'GDocs Notepad' that I installed and am trying out now. It syncs with Google Docs and allows you to edit documents and what not so this may be the best bet for our needs.

My wife and I use " My groceries", it syncs on both of our Droids, its free and works well for a simple program.

If you're a foodie, try www.kitchenmonki.com. You can create shopping lists from recipes and add items to the list ad hoc. Then you can send your list via SMS to your phones. It's more than just a shopping list. It's a great cookiing website. The site also has mobile access.:icon_ banana:

Ourgroceries (on the marketplace) is perfect if you both have Droids. It will sync lists between them, and mark off items when one of you purchases them.

For those with only one Droid, as well as some of the app mentioned above, there is also Upvise which can sync a shopping list, notepad, and several other things with a web accessible account (It supports Windows Mobile and I think iPhone and Blackberry as well). Free for some apps, minimal cost for some more business oriented apps (project scheduler for instance).

I was looking into a solution for this also. I came up with using Google Tasks since I don't use it for anything else. In Gmail on your computer, on the left is TASKS (right below Contacts). Just make your list their. Then on the Droid I did a shortcut bookmark to tasks. The good thing about this way is you can check them off as you get the items into your cart.
