What happens if I uses moto unlock boot loader tool?

My RAZR is now out of warranty and I wanna unlock the boot loader. Will I lose my data or be kicked off vzw network?

I believe the unlock tool only works for the xt910, the global version of the RAZR. I could be wrong though.
