whats the best way to edit contacts

after a restore, i have 3 of every contact. 2 through the phone and 1 through google. some entries have emails, no numbers others have multiple numbers and no emails.

whats the best way to clean all this up? google also doesnt have every contact for some reason.

Editing contacts on a handheld device would be labor intensive, Gmail for sure

thats what im saying though, gmail doesnt have everyone that my phone does.

and then, how do i get rid of the multiples on my phone?

When you sync with Google then your phone and the Google servers sould have the same database, you can then edit via gmail, sign out on your handheld device and then resync when your editing is done

settings> accounts and sync> google> sync contacts gives me the error "sync is currently experiencing problems. it will be back shortly." yet sync gmail and sync calendar are fine and up to date.

I just synced my gmail/contacts/calendar with no problems, it might be something in your area
