What's the best way to load an iTunes movie?

I've recently become interested in transferring movies from my iTunes account. I loaded up Doubletwist but couldn't get any movies to sync. I'm guessing it's because of DRM protection. What have you successfully used and what other advice do you have for a newbie like me?

Also, how do you download non iTunes movies and get them on your phone?

I side load movies and TV shows via the USB cable and watch them with MX Player. Haven't tried movie videos from iTunes though.
