when i click gps icon at top does not show

I know some have had problems with the razr maxx and gps. This started a few days before i got ics today. When i do try google maps app it does give location but does that take it feom mobile towera or gps. Gps tester shows gps is on and shows how many satellites I connect to. Any suggestions to get my icon back up top?
