When you charge the phone, does it automatically stop charing when 100%?

I hear it's bad to overcharge a phone so I have been making sure to not do that, I do notice that the charging light turns off when it reaches full, is that what's happening?



also, I haven't really turned the phone completely off for more then a few min since buying this phone last month, am I hurting the battery?

No, you're not hurting the phone. And yes, it's fine to leave it plugged in for as long as you want. Mine stays on 100% of the time, and stays on the charger as long as I'm home and it's not being used.

yeah mine stops charging when it's fully charge. i don't see the charging symbol anymore.

I would think since there is a dock designed to keep the droid in when not in use that it will be ok for the battery.

That used to be true with older batteries, but most of today's batteries (including your Droid's battery) will not be harmed by leaving the phone on the charger or by letting the battery completely die.

Yes, it will stop the charge when full. You needn't worry.

Mines on charge driving to work for an hour in the morning, 4-5 hours docked at my desk, an hour driving home and from 11p to 5a.....never an issue with overcharging or overheating

I was told that the car charger has a quick charge rate, and the home dock has a slower charge rate. The home dock supposedly is a smart charger in that it trickles when the battery is full. But, I was told that it was probably not a good idea to leave the phone plugged into the car charger for long periods of time.

I would have assumed that both chargers would recognize a full battery and go to trickle so I was suprised about the car charger.

I got my info from a VZW tech, so don't blame me for misinformation.....lol

Probably the same Verizon tech that told me that my T-Mobile Micro-USB charger would physically damage the phone.

I guess they haven't heard that Micro-USB is a standard. They're still living in their proprietary connector filled world.
