Hello everyone,
Ian G Marshall here from paris, France.
Glad to discover this forum. Hope I can (at last) some invaluable tech info from this source.
Here's my "dilemma"
I mostly use Dolphin browser with my Android devices. Once I've a web site hit, I can :

- save url as a bookmark for further use
- save to home screen

this is possible with other browsers...

I'm curious to locate these home screen bookmarks in the android system so as to create a backup.
When I go into "my files / internal storage-device" I can't find the storage folder
Dolphin Brower staff have not been able (to date) to help me on this query.
Does anyone ot there in this community have a suggestion ??
Many thanks; eager to read you

Welcome to the forum! Doesn't Dolphin browser allow you to save your bookmarks to your account? If not, I know that the Google Chrome browser does.

welcome to this forum . do have a account to login your browser ? what happened to your phone ? any data lose make storage folder disappear ? if so, you should recover your phone data

Hi everyone,

many thanks for all the replies + useful link
I am aware that Dolphin Browser allows for a data backup (bookmarks + cookies + user history...)
however, the last response I got from them concerning how to bckp screen-saved urls from their browser was, "we are looking into that..."
Meantime, I am trying to locate the path to where these screen saves are stored in the device.
They're on the home screen of the device. The corresponding OS must store them somewhere.
Awaiting light at the end of the tunnel......Cheers

I'm wondering if they're stored in a system folder, requiring root to access them.

Why not save those same links to your bookmarks in Dolphin as well as the home screen? Then you're sure to have them backed up & would just need to add the ones you like from your saved bookmarks in the browser to your home screen again if you get a new device or have to reset your current one.

Hey Jonny,

Thanks for your kind reply.
Good thinking. I've obviously connected the device up to the PC. Can't find any solution.
Yes, I'll probably need root access as I can't believe that the handful of system folders on display can account for some 3,5 Go of used storage.
I tried to gain root access to a Samsung tablet some time ago and ended up with a bricked device!!!
So yes, I've also reached the conclusion that the only thing to do for now is to count on the stored urls in browser/ bookmarks for further need.
If anyone has suggestions on how to resolve a soft bricked Android OS device...
Best
IGM
