Where do apps icons get installed?

Where do the app icons go after installation? I've purchased a couple apps; they show as installed in marketplace; but no new icons on phone?

Are they Widgets? Long press on an empty space on one of your screens. A list of Widgets come up. Scroll through to find which one you want. Second, give me some app names and I will try to download them for you and see what I can find out.

Thanks for the quick reply. Found the widgets and not there, but learned something new. One was Touchdown, I have the unlock icon and screen that says it's licensed and ready to use but cannot find the icon for the program. The other was Astro File Manager. Both confirmed as purchased via my gmail account and I watched them install on the Droid?

I'm guessing you're coming off an iPhone?

New apps will be in your app drawer, tap the middle icon on the bottom row of your screen. If you want one of them on your desktop, tap, hold for a moment, then drag it to where you want it to go.
