Where is my download

Had a manual dowloaded to phone via internet. Was able to open and read it, but where is it stored for future reference?

It goes into the download folder. You can use the files app that comes preinstalled to navigate through your SD card.

How can I add a pdf file to a home screen panel, or add it to a folder on one of my home screens? I created an empty folder on one of my home screens, but I don't know how to move files to it!

I know you can do that with ES file explorer and its add-on bookmark manager.
