Where to find root apps?

Sorry, just switched from the iPhone to the DX yesterday and already rooted my DX. Where can I find the root apps? Is there antyhing like Cydia for the iPhone? Also is there a beginners guide to hacking and android? Like what are ROMs?

That post by razorloves should help you with most everything. Root apps can be found in the android market Google allows root applications in its market.
