Where's my droid - failure to locate

Dear,

Since i lost my last phone i decided to install a localisation app.
So i went searching on the net and come out by "Where's my droid".

They say it's simular as "Where is my iphone". So installed it correctly and start testing it.
On my android phone, a samsung galaxy S3 mini, i put GPS on active.

Then i go to the website Where's My Droid - Commander Login with my e-mail and password i go to the phone a click locate.
Well that's working all fine when i'm connected trough internet on my phone.
From the moment i leave my house i can't locate him annymore and that's the most important part for me...

So the problem is when i'm not conntect trough internet (i don't have mobile internet) i can't locate my phone trough GPS...
Can somebody help me? Or if you got a better app let me know?

cheers

It shouldn't depend only on WiFi, however, if the phone had been factory reset or turned off none of the usual solutions would help.

Ok if is has been stolen... but what if i lose my phone (cause i'm sloppy) then this is a great solution if it works.

If it's only misplaced several of the solutions can ring the phone, wipe it, lock it etc. But not if it has been turned off or the battery runs down.
