Who else is digging these shortcut keys?

Im enjoying this phone more and more. The physical keyboard is probably its strongest feature. These shortcut keys remind me of the blackberry tour and Treo 755p I use to have.

I don't think I am using them right. Can you hold down a letter and launch an application?

You hold down the "search" button and press the letter you want to launch a certain app etc..

So for Gmail, you would hold down the "search" touch sensitive button and press the letter "C"

If you want to see the defaults go to Settings > Applications > Quick Launch. You can then set them your preferred way.

Yup rob couldn't have explained it any better. These shortcut keys are great.

Also, in case you forget what your shortcut keys are, Just add a shortcut key to your desktop.

Press and Hold anywhere on the home screen> Press "Shortcuts"> Press "Settings"> Press "Quick Launch"

and your good to go!

I don't own a Droid Pro, and I haven't played with one yet, but out of curiosity, why does the letter "c" control Gmail?

it stands for "Cool Mail" ....just kidding.. Honestly you can change it to any letter. I have mine to "G" so I just hold the "Search" key down and "G" and thats it. I wish I could just tap the "Search" button and then hit "G" although I should probably set it to "E"

I don't see them as user friendly, especially if you want to use a key on right side. My hope would be a situation where you tap a button once and then proceed to your designated key.

Well it takes a while to get use to but once you get the hang of things it nice. Although I wish there was an option to just be able to press just the letter rather than the search key and letter..kinda like blackberry
