why are all these aps running in the background?????

went to home--manage aps----aps running and found these:
google services, motorola dock service, vz navigator, global unplug, multi touch keyboard.....why do they run all the time and what are they doing.....can i stop map services..
I didnt mention others that are running as i knew what they were and why they might be running......
please advise

Don't worry about them. The OS handles them as needed.
