Why does it take so long to charge via computer and via car?

I've noticed that charging the DROID RAZR MAXX doesn't take too long at all to charge when plugged up to a wall socket... However, when plugged up to a laptop or even in the car, it takes AGES!!! I've been home since 6:00 and it's 9:00 and my phone has only charged about 20% or 30% or so... Freaking horrible. This has been consistent since I've bought it, but I've never complained about it because it didn't seem that big of a deal, but obviously now it's much more of it for me.

Although I plan on getting the new iPhone and sell this crap when it comes out... I'm still curious about this issue... (I just had to mention that :D)

The computer USB port has a maximum of 500 Milli amps, the wall wart has 750 if its a MOTO charger. Car chargers like wise have more capacity. Ambient temperature plays an active role charging also, the higher the temp the slower it will charge. All in all your situation is normal. All lithium batteries will act the same regardless of manufacturer.

Your welcome, all lithium batteries have a computer chip built into them to control how they charge. They are little bombs when stress. Don't worry they won't blow off your ear. Have a peachy keen weekend.
