Why does my Android One phone fail to install new Apps?

S Das

New Member
I have purchased a new Android One Spice mobile with Kitkat. I want to know how to install apps in my phone.

I can check internet through Chrome and it is working fine, but when loading apps it goes on downloading/installing status for several days and tehn fails.

Also, I want to know the following few things about it:

  1. How to make video call through it?
  2. How to record audio / voice conversation etc?
  3. How to view my files and folders from memory?
  4. How to send a telephone no to rejection list?
Thanks

****I've had those problems and usually a simple reboot solves it.****

Also, I want to know the following few things about it:

[*]How to make video call through it?

Video calls can be done through various apps that you can download such as Skype, Tango, OooVoo, Viber, Google Hangouts, the list goes on and on. Coming soon to a phone near you is VOLTE which brings with it video calling.

[ *]How to record audio / voice conversation etc?

Recording voice can also be accomplished with apps such as Smart Voice Recorder. Again, there are myriad of recording apps on the play store.

If however you're trying to record phone calls that can be difficult, if not impossible depending on the phone brand and model. You would need to use a phone call recording app but beware, it may be illegal to record a phone call with other parties unless you informed them and they gave consent to record (informed consent). Some states require that only one on the call must give informed consent whereas other states require all parties to the call to be informed.

The law with regard to out of state calls is that the most restricted law state must be followed so I'd you're in a one party state but call someone in a all party state you must follow the all party law.

[ *]How to view my files and folders from memory?

There are literally hundreds of explorer type apps or what are often called file managers available for download. Just search for them and then look for one that suits you best. Some popular ones are Dual File Manager XT, Astro, ES File Explorer, Total Commander among others.

[ *]How to send a telephone no to rejection list?

To block calls or send them to voicemail or other recordings I use YouMail, a very powerful Visual Voicemail app that let's you set greetings for certain numbers and block them. There are again easily dozens if not hundreds of call blocking apps such as Calls Blacklist, Mr Number, Call Blocker, Call Control, Call Fuller and more.

Thanks

I second using the YouMail app. There are SPAM calls I get that never even get the chance to ring the phone.

On the app install, if a restart doesn't work go to settings > app manager > scroll to all and find the Google framework app and the Play Store app. Clear the cache from each, force stop each and restart. If that fails, go back and do it again but this time also clear the settings/data..
