Why doesn't the clock flip?

Every Hero variation I've seen has the same style flip clock as the Eris except that the numbers actually flip when the time changes.

I noticed the same thing with my old Touch Pro on VZW, it had the same style clock but did not flip either.

Also, I know I can download the hero clocks but I like having the weather on there.

It used to flip but HTC removed that function because it would hog up to much memory and battery power, and well we need that for the Eris.
