why dont some contacts show up in new message?

When I try and compose a new message some contacts refuse to come up. The only way I can text them is to go to contacts and find them. Is there any fix for this?

i had this issue too and found out that some of the contacts were listed as "home" numbers, i set them to mobile and problem solved

Check your contacts online - do a search for that email address and make sure it's not duplicated and only exists on the real contact. I had a similar problem with gmail message composing and contacts.
