Why is it taking so long to transfer files?

I am trying to transfer a 600 mb file and its saying 20 hours?? I did a search and I didnt see anything? Is my phone defective ? I am running windows 7 64

Do you have the Samsung Drivers installed? And are you using the stock micro usb cable? I don't know why, but it seems if you use a different micro usb cable (in my case Moto), it's super slow, but using the Samsung cable its much faster.

I can verify that the cable does make a difference. I did a test of coping a file in the 900 Mb size. Using the cable from my old Moto Droid it took over 10 minutes, and even after it said it was finished it wasn't really finished. I then copied another file using the cable that came with the Nexus. It took about 1 minute and while there was a delay after the copy was complete, it wasn't very long.

I would really like to know why that is. I can accept it -- I just want to know why.
