I have had my Bionic for several weeks now and I'm finding out that the Bionic is NOT supported by almost everything and everyapp!!! Older phones are supported but NOT the Bionic??? WHY??? Gameloft???? DOES NOT SUPPORT THE BIONIC!!!!! Madden NFL12 DOEA NOT SUPPORT THE BIONIC!!! Everything I tried to download ....DOES NOT SUPPORT THE BIONIC!!!! WHY???? IT'S THE NEWEST PHONE!!!! DUAL CORE!!!! FRONT AND REAR CAMERAS!!!! SO WHY NOT SUPPORTED?????? Can someone please tell me WHY?? I'm begging to think I should have just saved my money and kept my DroidX......IT'S SUPPORTED!!!! SINGLE CORE!!! REAR CAMERA ONLY!!!!! I just don't understand what is going on??? PLEASE HELP!!!

Most likely because it's a new os, new dual core processor and new data storage scheme. The apps will be updated soon to work with the Bionic because all new phones, or at least a lot of them, are going to fall into the same category as the Bionic (new dual core processor and new data storage scheme). Patience Grasshopper.

LOL.....Guess I was yelling some!! I'm just frustrated, I wanted the new Madden NFL12, it's free this weekend for verizon customers but as life has it the Bionic is not supported!!! I run into that a lot with the Bionic and to add to the frustration I also bought the Toshiba Thrive and it's NOT supported by much of nothing either!!! I can do more with my DroidX than I can with both the Bionic and Thrive put together!! Yep FRUSTRATED!!!!

the apps might run just fine on the Bionic but the developers need to add the Bionic to the list of supported devices.. unless they certify the app for the OS version, which most devs dont do.
this is one example of Android fragmentation at it's finest... not to worry though, the apps you desire will be whitelisted for Bionic in short order. it took less than 3 weeks for Skype to get their act together and toggle video chat for Bionic.

I'm sure your right, but patience is NOT one of my best virtues!!!....lol I haven't tried skype yet to see if it works on the Bionic, I just updated this morning, I hope it does. My son is in Irag and we skype all the time on the computer, it would be wonderful if it works on my phone. I also have the game NOVA2, it works on my DroidX but wont even download on my Bionic, phone not supported!

One of my favorite games, Dark Galaxy, is only half supported. Technically it works fine, but the screen size is equal to that of a 3in screen. Worked fine on my X2, have even emailed the devs about it, they told me they'd look into it, that was about 3 weeks ago and there's been 2 updates since so we'll see...
You just answered your own question. Sometimes, having the latest and greatest can be a liability, until the software developers catch up. Most of the apps you mention are high-end apps; which simply cannot be updated to support a new device and fully tested without having the actual device in hand. The device emulators that come with the SDK are nice for basic software testing, but you are not going to want to use them to test high-end 3D games.
Apps are beginning to become compatible, for instance you can now download Madden 12 for the Bionic from the Android Market.
Well, for the Madden 12 thing you can thank Verizon for not including the VCast App Store on the Bionic.
So download it when its free and the update should be fee no?

It is supported on the bionic, just not in the market. You can still buy it on gamelofts website.

Madden is definitely not worth the trouble. I downloaded it for my DROIDX, and it is unbearable to play!

I agree 100 % and This was a VZW supported Freebie (the game), they should have made sure the NFL Madden was supported on the Bionic before slapping us in the face.. I'm on my second Bionic and the first i returned and then started my clock over. my 14th day is 10/6. they may get it back.
