Why no 4g?

I'm sitting next to my girlfriend who has a thunderbolt and she has 4g but I only have 3g on my nexus. Why? Her phone has a California area code but that shouldn't matter should it? What's going on? Same thing with the outages lately. She's had 4g the whole time

maybe try activating airplane mode then turning it off. area code doesn't matter

I didn't think it would since I thought we were using the same towers. I usually toggle airplane then 4g. I never rebooted though. For some reason its back now but this happens a lot and its more than frustrating

There's a very simple solution: steal her phone and put yours in her purse when she ain't looking.

I've been having problems using LTE on my Razr this past week. Last night I couldn't connect at all.
